Greeting Note from the Chairman of the Organizing Committee
A few years ago, if someone said that there is a Greek Space Industry, they would characterize his words as unreal.
Nowadays the reality is different. Indeed, there is an active, dynamic, competitive, and very active Business and Scientific community in the field of Space and Satellite Technology.
The Greek Space and Satellite Industry is constantly taking new and steady steps in the international reality, creating a new, strong “brand name” for Greece and its equal participation and positioning in the new European Space Strategy.
Today, more than ever, there are increased European resources to be utilized by Greek space companies and research institutes, such as the Space Connectivity Program of 6 billion euros. Discussions and international collaborations with emblematic space agencies such as NASA and strong International Business Groups are also underway.
Characteristic is the cooperation of five Greek companies with Airbus Defense and Space UK in the development and construction of the TRUTHS satellite by the European Space Agency (ESA) and the United Kingdom Space Agency (UK Space Agency).
Teamworks, a company with 24 years of presence and experience in the field of Digital Technologies, is once again leading the way by organizing the 2nd Annual “Athens Space & Satellite Industry Summit” on June 29th, inviting governmental, political, scientific, business and space actors in the field of Space and Satellite Technologies to present and discuss proposals, solutions and implementations in this important field for the strengthening of the “brand name” of Greece in the international Space and Satellite Industry.
